Djärv is a young Swedish quintet, playing an extroverted, vigorous and heartfelt folk music with influences from both jazz and pop music. Together, the five members have created a homogeneous, vivid sound which has, over a short period of time, established Djärv on the folk music scene as well as in many other forums. Rooted in several different musical traditions, Djärv offers a varied stage performance where vocal, five-voiced tunes blend in with energetic dances and free improvisations. Their concerts have been broadcast several times, both on Swedish national radio and abroad, and the band has toured extensively over the last three years.
"After more than 15 years making music, it’s obvious Ohio duo Over The Rhine is in it for the long haul, and for keeps. Their commitment is underscored by their latest, The Trumpet Child, and its opening track, “I Don’t Wanna Waste Your Time,” a manifesto of sorts for the artists recently named to Paste magazine’s list of 100 Best Living Songwriters. “Sounds like a mellow hybrid of pop, folk, and jazz that recalls the work of Sarah McLachlan, Norah Jones, and Emmylou Harris.” Christianity Today
